Entries now open for the 2025 British Junior Championships

Entries are officially open for the 2025 British Junior Championships, set to return to Sheffield from 30 October to 2 November for four thrilling days of high-level junior squash.

Following its landmark 50th anniversary last year, the prestigious event is expected to attract over 400 of the UK and Ireland’s brightest young players, battling it out for national titles in the boys’ and girls’ categories across six age groups – from U9s to U19s.

Recognised as a launchpad for international squash success, the British Junior Championships has helped shape the careers of household names including Commonwealth Games gold medallist Gina Kennedy and three-time World champion Nick Matthew. For many, it’s an important step on the path to international honours.

England Squash CEO Mark Williams said: “With so many of our top senior athletes having competed – and won – this event, the British Junior Championships continues to be a defining milestone in a young player’s journey.

“The energy and support at the championships are always incredible, with families, coaches and fans travelling from far and wide to be part of it.

“We’re excited to return to Sheffield and welcome the squash community once again to this flagship competition.”

Tournament Organiser Tim Vail added: “We’re thrilled to open entries for what promises to be another outstanding edition of the British Junior Championships.

“Last year’s introduction of the U9s category was a big success, and we’re expecting another strong turnout across all age groups. It’s always inspiring to see young players returning to test themselves at the next level – and even more exciting to discover new names ready to make their mark.”

Matches will be played at Abbeydale Squash and Fitness Club, Hallamshire Squash Club, and Fulwood Squash and Racketball Club.
